All U.S. and foreign facilities that process, pack or hold food for consumption in the United States are required to be registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Foreign facilities are required to appoint an agent in the U.S. as a point of contact for FDA. In 2011, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) was signed into law. FSMA changed food facility registration requirements to require food facilities to reregister with FDA on every even-numbered year. The reregistration period runs from October 1-December 31. Food exported by foreign facilities that fail to reregister will be held at the port of entry in the U.S. Time is running out to reregister with FDA. We offer services to register and reregister your facility, and for foreign facilities, serve as the agent in the U.S. Information from FDA may be found here.
