New FDA Food Code Reduces Barriers to Food Donations
FDA recently released 2022 Food Code helps reduce barriers to food donations by clarifying for the first time that food donations from retail food establishments are acceptable as long as proper food safety practices are followed.

Notice of Decision To Authorize the Importation of Fresh Mango From Grenada Into the United States
USDA is advising the public of their decision to authorize the importation into the United States of fresh mango fruit from Grenada. Based on the findings of a pest risk analysis, which USDA has made available to the public for review and comment through a previous notice, USDA has determined that the application of one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing or disseminating plant pests or noxious weeds via the importation of fresh mango fruit from Grenada.
Thailand and the Republic of North Macedonia Added to the List of Regions Affected With African Swine Fever
USDA is advising the public that they added the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of North Macedonia to the list of regions that the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service considers to be affected by African swine fever (ASF). USDA has taken these actions because of confirmation of ASF in the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of North Macedonia.
Pydiflumetofen; Pesticide Tolerances
This regulation establishes a tolerance for residues of pydiflumetofen in or on caneberry subgroup 13-07A. The Interregional Project Number 4 requested this tolerance under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

USDA Announces Plenary Speakers for the 2023 Agricultural Outlook Forum
USDA announced today the plenary speakers for the 2023 Agricultural Outlook Forum, themed “U.S. Agriculture: Seeds of Growth Through Innovation.” The event will be held in person February 23-24 at the Crystal City Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va., and all sessions will be livestreamed on a virtual platform.

FSIS Releases NARMS Multi-Year Data Report
FSIS released the National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS) Multi-Year Report, which describes trends in Salmonella serotypes and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in select food animal species and products from 2014-2019. The report highlights changes in Salmonella serotypes and AMR in raw products derived from chicken, turkey, cattle, and swine, and the intestinal contents of these animals.
