FDA Updated Training Video on Marine Biotoxin ManagementFDA developed a training video on marine biotoxin management to provide a better understanding of specific biotoxin concepts in the National Shellfish Sanitation Program (NSSP). The video, comprised of three learning modules, is a tool to help the seafood industry and state and federal agencies understand biotoxin sources and geographic distributions, develop or improve marine biotoxin management and contingency plans, and determine the appropriate laboratory methods for specific applications. New Method for the Analysis of Sulfites in FoodsFDA is amending the requirements that specify the analytical method FDA uses to determine the concentration of sulfites in food. This action, among other things, provides a new analytical method that can be used as an alternative to the existing analytical method and will help improve the efficiency of FDA testing for sulfites in food. USDA Announces Approval of D-SNAP for Areas in Boulder County, ColoradoUSDA announced that low-income Colorado residents in parts of Boulder County affected by the wildfires that started on December 30 could be eligible for a helping hand from the USDA’s Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). Determination of the Newcastle Disease Status of the Cantons of Neuchatel and Ticino of SwitzerlandUSDA is advising the public that they are reinstating the animal health status of the Cantons of Neuchtel and Ticino in Switzerland as free of Newcastle disease. This recognition is based on an assessment they prepared and made available for public review and comment.
