Biden-Harris Administration Invests $178 Million in International Food for Progress Projects
USDA will invest $178 million in seven international development projects on four continents to support U.S. government priorities including promoting climate-smart agriculture, facilitating trade and addressing the root causes of migration in Central America, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced.
The funds are being awarded under the Food for Progress Program, through which USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service partners with non-governmental organizations and foreign governments on projects that help developing countries strengthen their agricultural systems and boost their trade capacity. This year’s awards are part of the $2 billion investment to strengthen global food security, announced by President Joe Biden at the United Nations General Assembly.

Solomon Director of the Center for Veterinary Medicine and the full report on FDA’s actions related to multiple reports of Cronobacter illness in infants, the Abbott’s infant formula manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Michigan, and confounding issues that led to a shortage of infant formulas.
Streamlining Program Requirements and Improving Integrity in the Summer Food Service Program
This rulemaking amends the Summer Food Service Program regulations to strengthen program integrity by clarifying, simplifying, and streamlining program administration to facilitate compliance with program requirements. Through this final rule, USDA is codifying changes to the regulations that will streamline requirements among Child Nutrition Programs, simplify the application process, enhance monitoring requirements, offer more clarity on existing requirements, and provide more discretion at the State agency level to manage program operations.
